Over history whenever it came to skincare, men have tended to keep their routine simple. However, nowadays men have moved towards a healthier routine to maintain younger-looking skin. Now skin care has become a significant thing for men. Men now take a great deal of time to learn and try new things about skincare. They are now focused on how to take care of the body’s largest organ which is the skin.

Despite the key difference between both male and female skin which is that the men’s skin layers are thicker compared to women, the main elements of skin care are pretty similar for both. For your knowledge we have mentioned the ways how you can take care of your skin.

1.      Consider Product Labels and Ingredients

The skincare products that you must choose should depend on the type of skin you have. For oily, dry, and combination skin, the products used will be different. For oily and acne-prone skin you must look for products that are oil-free or non-comedogenic as such products do not clog the pores which is the main cause of triggering acne. In case you have sensitive skin, use mild and fragrance-free products as the fragrance might irritate your skin and make it more dry. So always be aware of the ingredients of the products. For that make sure that you check the labels before buying any product.

2.      Wash Your Face After Exercise

Men who go to the gym or exercise must wash their face immediately after exercise. During exercise, the pores of the skin open and may trap secreted sebum and dust on the skin. So it is better to wash your face with a good face wash. A normal regular bar soap consists of harsh ingredients that can irritate the skin. So it is better to use a mild cleanser along with lukewarm water instead of hot water.

3.      Moisturize Daily

Skin moisturizer is necessary. We can never emphasize much on this step. Daily use of a good antioxidant facial moisturizer helps in reducing fine lines, and wrinkles and makes your skin look younger and brighter. Even for better results, it is better to apply moisturizer on a little damp face after a wash or even a bath.

4.      Wear Sunscreen Regularly

Sunscreen helps protect the skin against the harmful UV radiations of the sun. Even when you are indoors, use sunscreen regularly. Most importantly when you’re going outside, use sunscreen at least 20 minutes before stepping outside. Use sunscreen on all exposed areas including the face, lips, neck ears etc.

5.      Focus on Your Shaving Technique

For some men, the razors with multiple blades work best. However, negligence may cause razor bumps and burns. So it is better to use a single or double-blade razor and never tighten your skin too much at the time of shaving as it may leave cuts on your skin. Before shaving, damp your skin with water and use a moisturizing shaving cream. Always shave in the direction of grown hair.
